Yep. Still think this is great. The tweaks are good.

That's great. I love this solo piano setting for you.

Working for me! I like you like this - I wonder if the piano album is next on the agenda? So no vocal tail is needed then? I like this, too, but I'm not nearly good enough to pull off a piano album. They'd all start to sound the same after 2 or 3, if I even got that far.

I like your voice, but it would look funny with a tail.

You the man, Bee, but you better look out. My stars are gaining on you...

I've just listened back to mix three (the first one I commented on) I actually prefer the vocal sound on this.... may be a "tiny" bit too loud but the less reverb sounds so much more personal and really drags you in. I think what I am saying is slightly lay off the reverb and slightly louder vox than the final mix you posted. I said exactly the same thing in a PM. Funny. It sounds great, Oswich. Oswenator. El Oswanato! Le Oswenite. Oswinski. The Wizard of Oswlekville. Really good stuff! Signed Sealed and Delived!

Thanks, Lee. Stick actually made that comment after I had made several adjustments per your PM. Apparently it needed a lot more work than I realized.

Leek and I had been communicating about reverb and I had a breakthrough when I realized that I liked the sound of my voice better with no verb at all than the way I had it set up. Never realized how much effort went into just that one tool. So, I shitcanned all the old verb and delay FX tracks and built it completely from scratch, and after literally 4+ hours on just this one area (with some minor automation to lessen the artifacts), I think I finally nailed the mix. Not only do the vocals cut through the mix better, but I was able to up them to an appropriate level AND the new settings provided the smear I wanted, so you can't really hear when I've muted some lip smacking. Really proud of this one. picosong.com/33J2The only problem is, now when I go back to earlier mixes - even ones I just did like "Unbury" and "Autumn Sky", they sound completely amatuerish.

You really did a fantastic job on these vocals.
Your voice is right there in front while riding beautifully on top of the piano in a very natural way.

Thanks guys, I learned more about mixing vocals in this project than I had in the dozen prior to it.
