Wow. Just wow. When I recorded Blue Melody, I was searching and searching for the Hammond Organ drawbar settings for this song... never could find them... until now. This is an inspiring video.

Great vid - took me back to 1966 and my 1st year at university. The music that came out that year was phenomenal.

Sadly, in some of the footage you can tell Brian is tripping.
I'm also curious as to why the film makers chose to show footage of a stand-up bass when I can clearly recall seeing footage of Carol Kaye (part of The Wrecking Crew) playing that amazing bass line on a Fender bass guitar.
But what a trip!

Going on memory here... but I've read that they recorded that song in multiple studios... it took like a year to come together. Maybe they were doubling up bass lines?

But my feeling is that some of the footage was shot after the actual recording sessions. This is based on my years as a film student in college. It was interesting to find out that Carl came up with the ideas for the theremin and the cello parts.

At 3:32 you can see both basses being played. Whether that means anything, I don't know.
