No, you're not wrong... it is your opinion that differs sometimes. There is no right or wrong in these situations.

Sound great - I hate guys with musical skills and terrific vocal ability like you. +1 The part is fine - take the reverb off and run the guitar through a B3 rotary speaker/emulator with a bit of hair/distortion on it to change the 'Duane Eddy' flavour to a more suitable George Harrison flavour. Although if the guitarist coming over is that guy from K-Floor, the point is probably moot.

Not the same guy, but someone of equivalent talent. This guy coming over is less bluesy, perhaps technically a better player... but both are extremely tasteful musicians.
That said... why use a rotary simulator when I've got a real Leslie sitting in the studio. Maybe he should play through that?

Yeah, I would definitely get at least one take with him playing through the Leslie - mid to late period Beatles lead guitar in a bottle. George actually used the clean/reverb "Duane Eddy" sound from the OP on a lot of tracks, but he was usually playing his chordy Carl Perkins/Scotty Moore rockabilly licks when he did. For the later, more melodic single note stuff he switched to an overdriven Leslie tone.

Soundcloud banner loads, but nothing else. Any idea why? Maybe a title like 'She refused' is something the NSA keep an eye on. They probably don't take sedition lightly. Better look out your window and see if there are any black cars parked across the road.

Soundcloud is working now, so I've had another listen. I still feel the same.
Maybe it is the "Duane Eddy' sound that is out of place, and Ram's suggestion of playing through the Leslie will make it 'belong' with the rest of the song.
Hey - even George Harrison had his occasional 'meh' bit of guitarwork. I can count them on one hand though.

Really cool stuff. Why don't you live in Encinitas? I would be your bass player for your showcase gigs in a flash. Just wanted to mention that the role of bass player for his showcase gigs is already taken. At least, I think it is ... hopefully Justin agrees. Now we just have to convince him to DO a showcase gig.

You've passed the audition. Whether or not this ever happens is the big question. I'm pretty sure I know the answer.

effing brilliant. Do you still want to debate the lead guitar work?.... ;D
One thing though - The final chorus is a bit swamped by the instrumentation. Maybe the vocal level can be brought up a tad in that final section.

Second video is marked private. Do all you guys wear hats? Is that the missing ingredient I need to take my music up a level?

I've tweaked the mix a bit. Mainly fixed the guitar solo… adjusted the beginning and added a slight bit of Wah. Made the Rhodes a bit grittier. Shortened the ambient guitar by 1 measure at the beginning. soundcloud.com/justind/she-refused
