I'm confused..... If you could unsubscribe from all emails, then you must have managed to log in successfully. Yes, I logged in successfully. But when I tried to post I was told that I didn't have permission, and that I needed to go through all the rigamarole I'd already been through. None of that matters now. I JUST WANT A WAY OUT. |

I want to UNSUBSCRIBE so I can start over and go back to my original screen name, settings, etc. I'm involved in a book project that requires a lot of focus on various types of research, collating stuff, taking over 200,000 words worth of writing into a 50,000 word ms. If anyone knows how I can unsubscribe -- please send me an email. I can't keep going back and forth and explaining and re-explaining this shit. KelleyMethod@aol.com Thanks. |

Can you click on the reset password link in the last (chronologically largest) email you received? I unsubscribed from all emails. After my 15th, I just got tired of the whole thing. Sorry, this is the first I've got over here, Lee. I take it you're still locked out? If it makes you feel any better, a bunch of the mods didn't have their mod powers, and, of course, it's all unfamiliar. Anyhow, I think the thing for me to do would be to contact an admin on your behalf and explain that there's some sort of issue with your email and the new system. Or something. Anyhow, we'll fix it. With regard to YouTube, it's now in place for users. I haven't used it, so I don't know the particulars of posting (whole URL, just the ID, dunno). |

A lot of the first day bugs are fixed and feature changes are now in place. The horizontal scrolling bug is fixed. Video embedding works. I laughed at the idea at first, but changing the user preferences default text size from medium to large really does improve the look and readability. And the ctrl-scroll wheel (or other browser page zoom) fix to squeeze the sidebars off the screen really DOES improve the look and feel. I strongly recommend trying both those 'fixes.' (You'll need to re-zoom when returning to the the site, but as long as you're moving around on it, your browser should retain the page zoom settings.) The speed of the forum seems to be holding up quite well. There were a couple of slow points yesterday as they were tinkering the system but it's rocking today. Also, I think most folks gave up on using site-search on the old system but the new system search seems to work great. It was no problem at all finding our old (unstuck) stickies with a simple search on part of the title. The tagging and 'kudo' features may not be well-understood but they can prove to be valuable features if used. Tagging allows better targeting of searches -- important for helping people answer/solve techical questions/problems -- and the 'kudo' button allows you to give a basic thumbs up/plus one type flag -- which can help sort out conflicting answers and approaches. If you're in a tech forum and there are two different answers, one with no 'kudos' and one with 7 or 8, I know where I'd look first...
